Team Bromley continued their 2017 success story, with the girls' cricket team winning bronze in the London Youth Games cricket final at Lord's last weekend.
Mytime Active are very proud to be associated with the girl cricketers from Team Bromley that won bronze in the London Youth Games cricket final at Lord’s last weekend. True competitive spirit and determination was shown as they secured a place among the teams competing in the event.
Bromley put on a strong performance in the quarter-finals against Hillingdon, dominating the game and winning 144 - 6. The girls then faced Wandsworth in what proved to be a nail-biting semi-final. Despite their best efforts, Wandworth had the edge and beat them 126 - 55 to secure a place in the final.
Deputy Mayor Hannah Gray said of the event:
I’m very proud of the young people; they had great skills but unfortunately Wandsworth were just that little bit stronger on this occasion. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself and loved seeing the young people play with such passion! They should all be very proud.
This marks Team Bromley’s third medal, after two events - with many more to come. Our next will be boccia, with three young people from Riverside School competing at the University of East London on Thursday 9 March.
Mytime Active are sponsors of Team Bromley in the London Youth Games, Europe’s biggest annual event for young people and a stepping-stone for many international and Olympic athletes.
