Mytime Active volunteers shortlisted for Bromley Stars Award
When the UK entered into its first lockdown in 2020, Mytime Active pulled together a team of 12 volunteers who went on to support Bromley Council with their pandemic response. The team volunteered 500 times, supporting people who were shielding with food deliveries, shopping and prescription collections and deliveries.
For over 5 months Deborah Weekes, Mytime Partnership Manager liaised with Bromley Council staff, and it is that staff team who have nominated the volunteer team for a Bromley Stars Award.
“The Council recognises the role of volunteers and local voluntary organisations in our plan for Building a Better Bromley. We want to celebrate some of the vital and important work carried out by these organisations and by Bromley staff in their own time. We know that many employees and local organisations regularly do wonderful unpaid work and are extremely committed to making a real difference to residents of our borough and our wider Bromley community. So please take some time to think about the voluntary organisations we work with and colleagues you know across the council who give up their time to make a difference in Bromley. We want to acknowledge the achievements of these unsung heroes”.
Bromley Council had a record number of Bromley Star nominations this year, so it’s even more pleasing to hear that the Mytime Active team of volunteers has been shortlisted and invited by Bromley Council’s CEO Ade Adetosoye to an Awards evening on 1st July.
Mytime Active is so pleased to be a part of this amazing group of people, irrespective of who wins! We wish all those nominated a fantastic evening and thank Bromley Council Staff for the nomination.
