SRS Leisure and Mytime Active support young talent going for swimming gold
14 year old Brooke May-Pitt from Beckenham Swimming Club has ambitious goals for 2017. Her desire to achieve them requires balancing eight weekly swimming sessions, GCSEs, netball and many early morning starts. Her alarm regularly wakes her at 4.45am for a 2 hour training session before a full day at school.
Thanks to a partnership between retail supplier SRS Leisure and social enterprise MyTime Active, Brooke has received a sponsorship package that will help her along her journey. The organisations have teamed up to provide the butterfly specialist with swimwear, training equipment, and complimentary membership to her most regularly visited pool.
The team at Mytime Active spotted Brooke's talent during her regular training under coach Tony Beckley at the Spa at Beckenham pool. She worked her way into the club's National squad and she is aiming for a top 20 ranking in England or Britain to qualify for her first National swimming competition. Beyond that, she dreams of the Olympic Games.
Brooke is the first young swimmer to benefit from the joint sponsorship package, which could pave the way for future upcoming swimmers.
James Williams, General Manager of The Spa at Beckenham, commented:
"We see how hard Brooke trains, and we wanted to help. We are proud to support a young talented athlete from the Borough of Bromley with our partners SRS Leisure as part of our ongoing commitment to benefiting our local community. We look forward to watching Brooke's progress and seeing how far she can go!"
Craig Senior, Group Food, Beverage and Retail Manager for Mytime Active, said;
"We have been in partnership with SRS Leisure for 3 years. Joining forces with them to sponsor a young athlete from our local community seemed to be the natural next step. We hope that this is just the beginning of a long, successful relationship between MyTime Active, SRS Leisure and Brooke."
SRS Leisure Brand Manager Kate Cowdy commented:
"Brooke's commitment to swimming and her achievements so far are impressive. It is great to see this level of dedication at such a young age and we are pleased to get behind her."
