4 reasons to love winter golf
Whilst the weather is undoubtably warmer and sunnier throughout the spring and summer months, there are still many reasons for getting on the course during the winter.
1. Time to practise and improve
The winter is a great time to gain an edge on your playing partners who put their clubs away for the season. During the winter you’ll be able to focus on practising and improving your game without the distracts of competitions and fixtures.
2. Safe exercising
Being outdoors and with lots of space, golf is one the that safest activities you can do during the winter. What’s more, keeping active is great for your health and the average round of golf is over 10,000 steps.
3. Beautiful views
Whilst the course looks spectacular on bright sunny days, you’ll find crisp mornings, winter light and frost give the courses a beautiful and tranquil feel.
4. Social
Keeping up with your golf buddies is not only a good reason to get out on the course, but also has lots of mental health benefits too! In fact, studies show that socialising can sharpen your memory, increases your feelings of happiness, and may even help you live longer.
